Super-tender and one slice will never be never enough. The bananas at the bottom of the tin are caramelised with caramel. You’d really go bananas with one bite! We adore banana cake and there are so many variations growing up. One of our founder @imeldawadhwa’s favourite snacks growing up were grandma’s jemput-jemput pisang – a sweet, soft banana batter that gets dropped into hot oil which instantly caramelises the sugar and bananas. For this cake, sugar is first caramelised and then added to the banana slices before baking. It’s intense, alright. We would give this cake a 9.5 out of 10 but that’s only because we are being modest! Banana Bread is an eternal favourite anywhere in the world! It is such universal love for banana bread - there are even people who explicitly do not eat fresh bananas but who would happily eat a whole pan of banana bread!
